Solar Inverter Summer Protection

1.Anti-temperature

Many inverters are installed outdoors, if there is no good heat dissipation and ventilation, high temperature will accelerate the aging of the inverter internal components.

Specific measures to prevent high temperature:

1) Place the inverter in a ventilated location, while paying attention to the spacing between the top and bottom of the inverter.

2) Install the solar inverter in a cool place that avoids direct sunlight, such as the back of the module, under the eaves, or choose to add a cover.

2. Rainstorm prevention

Summer rainstorms are frequent, and the impact on PV power stations is mainly due to the soaking of cables and components by a large amount of rainwater, which decreases or even breaks the insulating properties and leads to the inverter detecting faults and failing to generate electricity.

The sloping roof itself has a strong drainage capacity, and generally does not accumulate too much water; flat roof if the lower edge of the component is low, it is possible to be soaked by rain; for the PV power station installed on the ground, the rain washes the ground and may lead to component imbalance.

Specific measures to prevent rainstorms:

(1) In the design of the power station, geographic and geological factors should be taken into account, such as the orientation of the terrain of the site, the degree of slope undulation, the potential for geologic hazards, the depth of standing water, flood water level, drainage conditions, etc.

(2) For power stations that have already been built, scientifically install additional drainage systems.

Note: When inspecting O&M in rainy days, avoid unarmed electrical operations, do not touch inverters, components, cables and terminals directly with your hands, etc. You need to put on rubber gloves and rubber boots to reduce the risk of electric shock.
